| Lustables: Leather Link Earrings from BooandBoo Factory Posted: 04 Jul 2011 02:04 AM PDT Made of recycled leather scraps, BooandBoo is a fun accessories line to to wear and say. These hand-cut earrings are made from yellow leather and then woven into an oval shaped lattice of colorful links – rounded shapes of hot pink, turquoise, white, yellow and cobalt blue. As they say on the BooandBoo site: “A fun futuristic twist on a playful cartoonish design.” An L.A. based company, BooandBoo combines a variety of styles from “bohemian tribal to an urban-street-chic-look meets futuristic-science-fiction infused with digital architectural influences.” We just love how fun they look and the potential they have to be a standalone focal point of an outfit. Fashion’s Royal Wedding The world may have been fixated with the Royal Wedding (OK, we were, too), but fashionistas have been holding out for the Fashion Royalty Wedding of the Year. Yes, on Friday Kate Moss finally tied the knot with her rocker boy, Jamie Hince of The Kills. As expected, she wore a dress by John Galliano (who was permitted to leave Paris to attend, despite his ongoing trial for racism), which was true to Kate’s free-spirited style. Vintage inspired, and worn with a Victorian-style tulle veil, the dress channelled her sense of relaxed boho chic. Just a smattering of sequins gave a little glamour, and the play of sheer tulle and opaque silk gave the impression of vintage lingerie beneath, a Galliano trademark. The wedding marked the beginning of what was a three-day celebration at Moss’s Cotswolds mansion, aptly dubbed “Moss-stock”. Oh, to be a fly on those walls…

| Lindsay Lohan Has Lost Her Beauty Posted: 04 Jul 2011 02:04 AM PDT Lindsay Lohan has just been released from her 35-day house arrest, but sadly her stay at home didn’t do her any fashion wonders. She even looks more gaunt upon leaving home.
At the first night of her release, the problematic actress went to attend a party at the Lexington Social Club and wore a black coat over a white dress, but this proved to be a failed attempt to camouflage her looks into the darkness. She looked dry, gaunt and lost, and her hair seemed out of place. She may have no stylist this time, but she sure does need one at the soonest possible time. And just when we thought royal wedding fever of all kinds was done and dusted, the Monaco royals also put on a spectacular show on the weekend. Prince Albert married his financée, former South African swim champion Charlene Wittstock, the day after Kate Moss tied the knot. Wittstock deferred to her favourite designer, Giorgio Armani, who has helped to streamline her style in recent years. She wore an Armani Privé gown to the religious ceremony with crossover shawl neckline and long train; white and gold Swarovski crystals, mother-of-pearl teardrops and embroidery adorned the front of the dress in floral designs. She opted for Armani again for the gala dinner following the ceremony. She follows in the famous footsteps of Princess Grace, another commoner who married a prince, even though she was already Hollywood royalty. Sigh.
While we’re all loved-up, could there be a better time to look at some beautiful fine jewellery? Fairfax & Roberts recently unveiled its Martin Collection, designed by Thierry Martin, who has also been commissioned by the likes of Harry Winston, Chanel, Asprey and Boucheron. This is Martin’s third collection for the Sydney-based jewellery house, having previously designed the Mademoiselle de Paris and Mademoiselle de Cannes collections for the most stylish and peripatetic of ladies. Martin’s latest offering is all Art Deco charm and clean lines, taking inspiration from the jeweller’s (appropriately positioned) Martin Place building. Many of the curvilinear pieces are designed to be layered, so that you can keep collecting rings, bracelets and necklaces and wear as many as you like. They are created from white, rose and yellow gold, and feature both black and white diamonds as well as colourful jewels such as rubellite and emerald.
No-one does a summer garden party quite like the Brits, and that most British of brands, Burberry, hosted one last week for London’s Serpentine Gallery. And while we can only dream of warmer climes right now, this look from Amber Anderson is one that we can still enjoy now. Wearing a dress from designer Christopher Bailey’s Fall 2011 collection for Burberry, Anderson shows how good a print dress can be when paired with killer boots and an autumnal-toned clutch. Cinch with a bow belt for a perfect finish.
