| I'm moving back to BlogSpot & Picasa Posted: 04 Mar 2012 01:35 AM PST Just to let you all know that I have decided to move Mega Free Wallpapers across to a BlogSpot address (again) where all of the wallpapers will be hosted on Google's Picasa image hosting. There are a few reasons why I have decided to make this change including reliability problems with the various image hosts I have been using & the amount of time it has been taking me to get new wallpaper galleries online. My old site also has URLs which are not friendly to social networks, as they contain colon ":" symbols which often resulted in "page not found" errors when visited from various social sites. The other main reason why I have decided to go with Picasa for hosting is that I can keep galleries on my own PC synchronised with those on Picasa. If I delete an image from my hard drive or add some new images, those changes will happen immediately at Picasa. This also means I am now using a flash slideshow instead of thumbnails to display the wallpapers on my new blog, as the sideshow is always synched with the gallery. You can click on any picture in the slideshow to open the full-sized image in a new tab or window. If you want to see all of the thumbnails in a gallery, you can just click on the link below the slideshow. Another good thing about using Picasa (aside from reliability) is that I have a huge amount of free storage. Because all of the wallpapers at Mega Free Wallpapers are smaller than 2048 x 2048 pixels, they do not count towards my free storage quota. That means I can upload as many wallpapers as I want, which should make visitors to Mega Free Wallpapers very happy.
